The Miami Hurricanes, fresh off of their second consecutive ACC road sweep and riding an eight game-winning streak, found themselves back in all of the major college baseball rankings on Monday.
Miami is now ranked No. 24 in Baseball America’s Top 25 and No. 25 in the Perfect Game rankings after a two-week absence in both polls.
Collegiate Baseball moved the Hurricanes up four spots to No. 20 after ranking them at 24 a week ago and the USA Today coaches poll placed them at No. 24 after being unranked a week ago.
Miami defeated Virginia Tech 9-2 on Sunday for its eighth straight win and its second straight ACC road sweep, the team’s first since joining the conference in 2004. The Hurricanes also swept N.C. State two weekends ago and defeated Bethune-Cookman 10-1 last Wednesday.
The Hurricanes have now improved their record to 21-12 overall and 11-4 in the ACC, just one game behind No. 3 Virginia for first place in the ACC Coastal Division. Virginia took two of three games from UM at the end of March.
Miami will travel to Orlando to face UCF on Wednesday before returning home to face Pittsburgh in a three-game series beginning on Friday.
