Today marks the second day of "Journey Into Nyx" previews on There is no particular order to the previews on the "Magic: The Gathering" site and there is no particular order here as well. With that in mind, here is the next card. It was spoiled via

Keranos, God of Storms - 3UR - Mythic Rare - Legendary Enchantment Creature - 6/5 - Indestructible. As long as your devotion to blue and red is less than seven, Keranos isn't a creature. Reveal the first card your draw on each of your turns. Whenever you reveal a land card this way, draw a card. Whenever you reveal a nonland card this way, Keranos deals 3 damage to target creature or player.

This is the first major player to come out of the new set. It's not very surprising that one of the gods would fit the role, though. It may be safe to say that this may never see the light of day as a creature, but it's secondary ability looks phenomenal on paper.

First, it allows players to do one of the best things in the game, and that's to draw extra cards. The second part of its secondary ability is very strong. The first thing that comes to mind is a fully dedicated counter/burn deck.

The strategy has not very strong in the past due to weak supporting characters, but this might be what it has been looking for in a long time.

Another possibility is some kind of American Control deck where your colors would be Red, White, and Blue. We could be seeing a deck containing players like Dissolve, Warleader's Helix, Supreme Verdict, Ral Zarek, and more.

With the expected release of the Blue and Red temple, and Steam Vents already being in the Standard format, this might be the next form on control decks players will choose to wield.

What do you think? Is Keranos the real deal, or is it getting over hyped? Let us know in the comments below.
