Emmerdale star Bill Ward has said if Adam Barton does turn out to be his character s son it can only end badly.

James Barton is set to suspect that his nephew Adam may be his child following a fling with sister-in-law Moira Barton, after he realised Adam is a year older than he thought he was.

Adam s father John, James brother, died two years ago. But Bill thinks finding out James is actually Adam s father won t be happy news.

Bill said: If Adam is James son, that is tremendously bad news for all concerned. From Moira s point of view, it means that John wasn t Adam s dad. From James point of view, it means that he is going to have to tell his boys that they ve got another brother. He ll also have to tell his boys that he was unfaithful to their mother and the last 22 years have been a lie.

Either way, there is a lot of drama to come. Even if Adam isn t James son, I suspect there will be a lot of drama in terms of how he works that out. It ll also be a situation where James is trying to get to the truth and Moira is trying to stand in his way.

Either way, there s a lot of drama in this story - and it s just a case of which way the writers decide to go with it!

The soap star - who previously played villain Charlie Stubbs in Coronation Street - revealed when he isn t acting he has a secret hobby - as a photographer.

Bill said: I take pictures, of water particularly. When I m not at work and after I ve learned my lines for the next day I will go out along the canals in the Dales. Or if there s time I ll get to the coast.

I just lose myself in that for two or three hours, and that takes me somewhere completely different away from work.

It s good for my brain and I love it and it s a chance to relax.
