began the final day of the Women's Super League season two points clear of Birmingham, but once all the results were in, jumped from third to first, beating Chelsea on goal difference . And Toni Duggan's volley played a starring role in that dramatic turn around.
Duggan's impressive chest control and looping volley into the far side netting proved to be the difference in Man City's 2-1 win over Chelsea. And with Birmingham only taking a point from their match against Notts County, Liverpool's 3-0 win over Bristol Academy was able to propel them to the top of the table when it mattered most.
They should probably send Duggan, who happens to be from Liverpool, an artisanal cheese basket as a token of their gratitude for her contribution, though.
